Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Division
The Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Division has a long tradition at the
Halmstad Hospital and patients can be offered advanced surgical care. The consultant surgeons provide a service to the County of Halland and to patients referred from other areas in Sweden, and in Europe.
Jaws with
deficient bone volume can be restored using autogenous bone grafts. This procedure
makes it possible to place titanum implants and
rehabilitate the patients with fixed bridgework or a
removable overdenture. Since 1986, reconstructive surgery of
this kind has been performed on over 1000 patients.
The experience acquired from our reconstructive works in maxillae in an advanced state of atrophy is well documented and
is published in international scientific
journals.
